With many hot tub sellers you are dealing with a sole importer who is selling direct. This tells you two things, the trade do not want to buy his spas and / or he is maximising his profits for a quick killing, by cutting out normal business costs.

The risk this exposes you too is that however big such a company claims it is, it  is still essentially a “one man” or “one family band”. If the company fails the whole lot goes, leaving customers with no back up or service. As has been shown by previous failures of mainly internet hot tub sellers, the new importer is not interested in dealing with old customers of the previous importer, unless it is for expensive parts or services.

When getting home and checking out on the internet the companies selling at various boat, home or design shows many visitors are now concerned to find that the show they had just attended may have created a monopoly for just one company selling hot tub and swimspas

Visitors to some of these shows may not have been aware that some of these shows have now come to a financial arrangement where just one company selling hot tubs and swimspas has a monopoly of the whole show, although they may be operating several stands at a show under different names to create the illusion of competition. Fake Hot Tub Filters, Covers and Spares

Several rogue internet traders are describing and offering for sale “branded” hot tub goods such as filters, covers and spares that are not in fact genuine goods and have nothing to do with these top quality brands. Some of these con web sellers are actually using a brand names before the description of the item, for example Best Spas filters, when in fact the filters are not made, approved or endorsed by Best Spas and are in fact cheap Chinese fakes that may damage your spa by being the incorrect specification, or Best Spas covers, when the cover is actually just a low insulation inferior copy from China.

Beware of false “Hot Tub Consumer websites “

Sadly most consumer and advice sites are just a way of getting gullible purchasers details; the trick is buyers can “register” for a free guide with their full details and then these are promptly sold on for £15 to a retailer and you get a call just as you are sitting down to dinner offering the best spa in the world for 50% off by a commission sales person, just like double glazing sales, but people still don’t see through it!!
