Questions to Ask of Companies Selling Spas at Shows

Ask Has the company or its manufacturer recently been in administration and how old is the actual manufacturer from the formation of the new company.

Many spa manufacturers have gone out of business then the name has been used by the new company owners, this has caused many British spa owners to be left without warranty cover or service in the past.

Ask Are they selling all new 2010 models or do you feel you are being pushed towards what they want to sell you, that could be old stock.

Were they at the show last year, were they selling the same make?

Beware of false “Hot Tub Consumer websites “

Sadly most consumer and advice sites are just a way of getting gullible purchasers details; the trick is buyers can “register” for a free guide with their full details and then these are promptly sold on for £15 to a retailer and you get a call just as you are sitting down to dinner offering the best spa in the world for 50% off by a commission sales person, just like double glazing sales, but people still don’t see through it!! Regrettably many companies in the UK Hot Tub market are using the very worst sales techniques to mislead uninformed buyers, all to justify inflated prices for quite basic spas. Such spas are literally thousands of pounds cheaper when purchased in shops in the USA or Canada, something the government has quite rightly labelled Rip Off Britain.

Weekly water tests!

The most frustrating thing about owning a spa is going out on a weekly and sometimes daily basis to test your water. People spend thousands of dollars on their tub to be attached at the hip with maintenance even when they’re not using the spa! It is important to keep chemical balance in line or it will lead to cloudy water, slimy or gritty shell surface and even bacteria growth. There are systems out in the spa industry that help cut down on spa maintenance like Nature 2 sticks and Spa Frog sticks. Even though these systems do cut down on maintenance and chemicals they don’t do nearly as good of a job as the Eco Pur offered by Master Spas.
